Our central location in Buchan means we are perfectly placed as a base for walkers, cyclists and for visiting the many nearby attractions. From the delightful Aden Country Park right next door, to the beautiful beaches at Cruden Bay, St Combs and Fraserburgh, as well as numerous golf courses that are within easy reach, you are sure to have plenty to do.
There is a large range of local cafes, restaurants and take-aways that cater for all tastes, as well as the local shops that are a short walk away. We have a leaflet available in our reception, or it can be viewed by clicking here
Aden offers a warm welcome, beautiful surroundings, and a wide range of opportunities for relaxation and recreation for individuals, families, and groups to enjoy. Aden, often referred to as ‘the jewel in the Buchan crown’ has been recognized as one of the country’s best green spaces with a prestigious Green Flag award.
The park offers an extensive play area for all ages and abilities being fully DDA compliant, it includes a fully accessible roundabout, with swings, adventure play, seesaw and the ever popular zip slide! Even your four-legged friends are catered for with a dedicated dog exercise and agility area. Near to the play area there are toilets that have disabled, baby changing and ‘changing places’ facilities.
Also within the park is the heritage centre with a farming museum, a reconstructed 1950’s farm, the Friends of Aden Craft shop and a café to grab a bite to eat and a delicious cup of coffee.
Throughout the park are a number of walks and trails, access to the Formartine and Buchan Way (disused railway line) and an arboretum and lake.
The pathway uses the former railway line linking Dyce, on the northern edge of Aberdeen, to the village of Maud where it splits into two routes: eastwards towards Peterhead and northwards to Fraserburgh.
The route is an impressive 53 miles in length, is entirely off road and relatively flat, however it passes trough such a varied and interesting landscape that the outlook is constantly changing and the journey is never boring.

SuperPosted on Bloem MelisTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Posted on Fiona MckenzieTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a touring caravan, place was so lovely, kim the warden greeted us in arrival and was so helpful. The shower/toilet block was spotless, was regularly cleaned, could not fault anything with place, and just had one annoying neighbour whose children kept kicking their football off side of caravan (least it was a softish ball) but they soon stopped when another vistor drew up in between us, maybe ball games should not be allowed....Posted on Nathalie TaslerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Stayed for one night on our first Motorhome trip. Warden Kim is amazing! So friendly and supportive, the facilities are exceptionally clean. And we managed to get a quiet spot in the back overlooking the countryside. We enjoyed our stayPosted on Michael ProudTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
